What's New? (Part 3)

Final update, probably for a few weeks unless anything starts melting:

You can now choose to e-mail rather than download the docs.

My work here is done *capes* Peace, out.

What's New? (Part 2)

Due to popular (well, semi-popular, well, someone asked? I think? Unless I was hallucinating feature requests. That happens.) demand, the script has been updated to make a valiant effort at grabbing fic in a nicely formatted fashion from the following sites:

http://www.wraithbait.com
http://ksarchive.com
(actually, it will do its best with all eFiction sites now, but it's only been tested on these two, so if it goes belly up on another let me know)
http://fictionalley.org
http://harrypotterfanfiction.com
http://basement.ditb.org

It will not, repeat will not, automatically grab chapters.

If you'd like others added, post in here.

What's New?

- The cover system has had an overhaul to allow more flexibility. It's in beta, just like ... the entire site, so if you have any things you'd like to see - in the covers or in general - let me know.

Still can't drag and drop in IE9, apparently they're set to catch up with IE10. Soooooon. Soooooooooooon.

- Experimenting with a new input cleaner. A lot of the issues with the various e-books not working properly are because of bad HTML going in (no biscuit.) So if you weren't able to grab something before, you may be able to now.

If you still can't, can you give me the URL (if non-flocked) so I have something to poke with?

- Chapters are still limited at 30. Not sure if anyone's actually tried grabbing something that long, but so far, so good?

- Flocked LJ and DW entries can be grabbed via username and password again (if you've already been given access!) IDEK what happened there, man o_0

(no subject)

As promised, today I am all about s!B, so the site may experience minor turbulence if I'm updating files and whatnot. The shaky will be kept to a minimum.

In other news, the chapter limit of 20 has been raised to 30 and we'll see how that plays over the weekend. If it's too much weight on the server, it will drop back to 20 again. If everything seems groovy, it will go up to 50.

It's ali-iiiii-iiii-ve (ish?)

Back doesn't seem quite appropriate, so let's go with 'risen' and all the lightning flashes, wolf howling and poor dental hygiene that implies. I'll be working on it over the weekend, but basically it's doing its thing.

Go Team squee!Book?

Edit: Well, it would be back, except the host is experiencing "Connectivity issues with one of our datacenters." *headdesk*

Slightly delayed update again...

In short: host hacked, invented new swear words, went in search of new home for many, many sites, found one, but realised new home would probably break down and cry trying to run S!B, pretty sure heard old host laugh and laugh.

Whiiiiich is where we're at now. So, sorry for the down time, the script should return over the next few days, back where it was. Possibly with some bug fixes, even - it could happen! And definitely with a new bookmarklet icon - thank you so much, [info]mahala_ac, it's awesome! :D

In the mean time, I understand there are lots of sites / software that can do what S!B does? If anyone wants to link to them in here for people, that would be great.

Slightly delayed update...

1) The dev site is now the main system at squeebook.net, but it is still in beta and being worked on.

2) Some code tweaking has been done to work around bad HTML being used ( open < without closing > was causing some issues, that kind of thing ). Not perfect, but better than it was. Something has gone hinky with the encoding, I'm poking it when I have a moment.

Thank you those who've dropped a message to let me know where the issues are. Sorry I've not made individual replies, but the notes are much appreciated :)

PS Bookmarklet graphic still wanted *insert pathetic flail*

Help meeee

I need a 16x16px icon for the squee!Book bookmarklet that lets you create the ebooks directly, but graphics are really not my thing, so if anyone feels like lending me a hand, that would be all things awesome.

squee!Book v2.1

I have a new version. I'm turning into Firefox o_0. In fairness, this is where the other version was going, but I had to move up my timetable on it, and it's slightly more suited towards production mode than the new one ... but the new one has more toys.

http://dev.squeebook.net/

-- HTML5 a go-go. At some point I'll see if I can play nicer with IE, but that's not happening right now, so you'll need FF, Chrome, possibly Safari, not sure.

-- Bookmarklet! Drag the icon the site suggests you drag to your browser toolbar, head over to the non-flocked (for the moment) fic page of your choice and then click and see. It's really in dev right now, so I promise nothing, but it might work out for those after HTML or PDF, particularly.

-- Expanded cover functionality, as promised. You can do. Like. Stuff?
